Si View Parks To Install Hacky Sack Pit At South Fork Landing

North Bend’s hacky sack player(s) can soon rejoice.  Si View Parks employee Natalie Hickman has confirmed that hacky sack will soon join disc golf at South Fork Landing.  “We are always looking for additional recreational uses for our parks.  Hacky sack has tremendous potential to be the newest ‘in’ sport here in the valley.  We really think a hacky sack pit will complement the disc golf course at South Fork Landing very well” said Hickman.

Hacky sack is played using a footbag - a small, round bag usually filled with plastic pellets or sand.  The footbag is kicked into the air as part of a competitive game, or as a grandiose public display of a player’s superior dexterity.

"Hacky Sack" was the name of a brand of footbag popular in the 1970s, which has since become a generic trademark.  The most common game consists of two or more players standing in a circle and trying to keep the sack off the ground for as long as possible.

Hickman expects the pit to open in time for the summer 2022 hacky sack season.
